A quick message from Marj.
By CVBS Bonsai | Published  09/12/2007 | Information | 632 views | Rating:
Hi all,

I was at the Gardens of the World today  - dropped off  the sign for the front.  They will put it up next Monday.

Marianne reviewed  the Press Release  and asked for 2 changes which I have made and  I am sending you the corrected copy now.  She does not want the Garden phone number on any of our publicity.  They get many phone calls per day and therefore do not want to take any Bonsai calls.

I will be reprinting her handout leaflet  which I  ask  -  Nat can you take them with you on Friday on your way to the Garden?

I am also sending this to Tom and Kiwi and ask if they can update our web page with it.    How is life settling in for our in Texas annex????

Thanks guys,

I will be home tonigh if there are any questions.

Marj

Where:            Gardens of the World

                        2001 Thousand Oaks Blvd

                        Thousand Oaks, CA  91360

When              Saturday and Sunday, October 6th and 7th

Time:              from 9:00 A.M.  to 4:00 P.M.

The Conejo Valley Bonsai Society will hold its 4th annual Bonsai Exhibition and Demonstration at the Gardens of the World.

The Exhibition will be at the Resource Center in the Gardens and will display society members’ work.  The members’ experience ranges from beginners to 20+ years in working with bonsai.   Samples of their work from the experienced to the beginner will be on display and available to view.

The Demonstrations will be in the Bandstand.  You are invited to watch as we transform a nursery tree into the beginnings of a bonsai.  We will explain techniques in examining the raw tree, determining which branches or limbs to keep or remove and the new shape to which it will be trained by wiring and trimming.   There will be four demonstrations; two on Saturday and two on Sunday at 11:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M., respectively.

Meet our Members who will be on hand to give you details of our society activities and will gladly share bonsai information, techniques, ideas for tree planting, pot selection and anything else needed to create these living works of art.

Street Parking is available on Thousand Oaks Boulevard (no parking on site).

We welcome members of the public to join us.
