H appy New Year and the very best for a prosperous 2013. I would like to thank all who attended and participated in our December Potluck. We had some great raffle and auction items and, as usual, excellent food. The evening Holiday mood was set by the piano music provided by Guy Ervin.

2013 is starting up to be a busy bonsai year. We would like to introduce you to a number of programs we are focusing on: CVBS Demonstrations: Al Espinoza is putting the program together. (See the CVBS Programs calendar on page 2.) Al reports that our January demonstrator is Alex Martinez, who has worked with Roy Nagatoshi at Fuji Bonsai Nursery for 16 years. Alex will style a juniper selected from trees club members bring to the meeting, so at the end of the demo one lucky member will take home their tree styled by  lex.

(If there isn’t a tree suitable for styling, Alex will work on a tree from Roy’s nursery.) “It  hould be a fun and memorable January meeting,” Al predicts
