It’s difficult to overstate the importance of the Golden State Bonsai Federation and its bonsai collection at the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Gardens in San Marino. It provides invaluable benefits to the bonsai community in Southern California. The Conejo Valley Bonsai Society is a member of GSBF and actively supports the Huntington collection. Here are some ways you can help.

First, attend the annual Bonsai-A-Thon the week-end of Saturday and Sunday – February 24 and 25. It’s the primary source of funds to support the GSBF collection at the Huntington. I urge all members to go, view the trees on exhibit, watch the expert demonstrations Saturday and Sunday, and shop the vendors’ area. It’s one of your best opportunities to acquire trees, pots, tools, wire—just about anything you need to build and care for your own collection. Attendance is free.
