February 2022 Bonsai Newsletter

The City of Westlake Village has decided that it will not reopen its Community Rooms this month. They will let us know about March. I am hopeful that we will be able to meet in person next month because many areas throughout the U.S. are opening up more and more every day. That includes California, which has loosened its anti-Covid mask restrictions, but it remains to be seen what Los Angeles County will do.

Meanwhile, the big news for the Conejo Valley Bonsai Society is a major renovation and updating of our website. Damon DuBois has been working on it, aided by Webmaster Tom McGuire. See Damon’s article on page 4 of this news-letter for an overview of all the changes and visit our spanking-new web-site at www.cvbs-bonsai.org to have a look.

Among the changes, many photographs of past annual exhibitions and demonstrations have been added. If you have pictures of one of our club activities, please let us know and we will see if they can be posted.

Many thanks to Damon, Tom, and the board members who worked on this long hoped-for facelift.

In other club business, our niche display calendar for 2022 needs to be filled. We have volunteers for February, April, and June (see list of volunteers on page 3). We need volunteers for March, May, and the rest of the year.
