November 2012 Newsletter

Our November demonstrator will be Al Nelson, and he will be working on oak trees. At the California Bonsai Society’s 55th annual convention in April, he displayed a very large and beautiful oak bonsai. He has worked on oak trees for many years, so it will be interesting and informative to see him working on them. And here’s a special reason for coming: Al will give a 2-year-old cork oak to everyone who attends the meeting.

We are nearing the end of 2012, and I would like to remind everyone that the December meeting will be our Holiday Potluck Dinner. Bring your favorite dish and enjoy the evening getting to know your fellow bonsai club members and their partners.

We also will have our annual raffle and auctions, so come prepared to buy raffle tickets and to bid on the fine items we will have up for sale. We have the two rooms at the Westlake Community Center, which will provide the extra holiday spirit with the fireplace and our holiday music provided
by Guy Ervin.
