November 2014 Newsletter

Our October meeting was a busy night with a workshop. Members brought in their own trees to work on. For the newer members who have just joined, I would like to remind you that we have a mentoring program in which more experienced members coach beginners. Should you want help, please ask.

Our November meeting will be a demonstration with Ann Erb working on a Japanese black pine. She is known for her azaleas so this is an opportunity to see her pine trees. Ann is a member of the Bonsai Club of Santa Barbara and I have seen her pine trees at their show. Believe me, this will be a real treat!

Our November meeting is also election night for our officers for 2015. Larry Kimmelman is heading up the nominations committee so please contact him and advise where and how you can pitch in and help. All assistance is appreciated.

If you are interested in serving, you can nominate yourself—or if you know someone else who you believe would make a good officer, please nominate them. Four positions are up for election: president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary.
